Meet our featured InCycle Team Member of the Month! William H. Salazar recently joined InCycle Software as a Senior Development Consultant after spending the last 9 years in ALM capacities at Microsoft and Neudesic, a Microsoft partner.

Tell us a little about yourself?

Before joining InCycle, I served a Software Engineering and Release Manager for a national mortgage technology services company and was the National ALM Practice Director for Neudesic, a National Systems Integrator and Microsoft Gold ALM Partner. In this capacity, I served as the thought leader for their National Application Lifecycle Management strategy and offerings. At Microsoft, I was a Principal Developer Technologist and a member of the Microsoft Developer Platform & Evangelism group. At Microsoft, a typical day for me would involve educating customers on ALM as well as facilitating the adoption and deployment of Microsoft’s Application Life Cycle Management (ALM) solution based on Visual Studio.

I have over 23 years of experience in the business and commercial software industry serving in various capacities in architecting large-scale enterprise solutions and implementations at strategic enterprise and fortune 500 companies. I enjoy regularly writing on my ALM blog, and speaking on Scrum, best practices and Visual Studio ALM.

Why did you join InCycle Software?

InCycle Software is one of Microsoft’s leading ALM partners and has demonstrated to be a top notch provider of ALM services in the U.S. I was excited at the opportunity to help InCycle expand their local presence and grow their ALM practice in the Western part of the country. I also saw a perfect fit between my passion for DevOps and InCycle’s expertise in Release Management on the Microsoft platform.

What are you doing at InCycle Software?

I recently joined InCycle Software as an ALM consultant based in Southern California. I am passionate about all aspects of ALM and have spent the last two years focusing on Release Management and DevOps. At InCycle, I assist organizations in adopting ALM best practices to improve the reliability and quality of their software development processes. My aim is provide Strategic and Tactical consulting on successful implementations of new Processes, Practices & Tools within both small and large organizations across the world.

What do you enjoy doing at InCycle?

In my last ALM role, I split my time between delivering ALM engagements, developing customer offerings, marketing and sales. Working at InCycle, I have gotten the opportunity to go back to my Microsoft roots and focus strictly on customer delivery – my passion! This means I get to spend the majority of my time working with customers to implement innovative ALM solutions to help them improve their software delivery processes. I also enjoy enabling businesses across the country to solve complex technical challenges with the aid of Microsoft technology.

I firmly believe ALM revolutionizes the traditional approach to software development. More ALM means = better quality software= more successful projects = reduced IT costs = Happy Customers!

What do you like doing during your free time?

I enjoy keeping active in the ALM community and technology in general. I am an active member of the Visual Studio ALM Rangers , local ALM and .NET user groups and speak frequently at SoCal Code Camps. I keep my technology skills sharp by developing on personal projects and presenting on new technologies. I enjoy living in the beautiful wine country of Temecula, CA with my wife, two kids (13 yr old girl, 12 yr old boy) and two English bulldogs. I enjoy riding my Harley motorcycle, hiking and traveling to both my kids’ competitive lacrosse games/tournaments. It is such an exciting sport!
